    it's only the first week, using fragmented time between various mandatory induction sessions, the team managed to get some work done...

    One sentence Abstract: We got a prototype that follows line.

    Mechanical

    • create solidworks models for all components from sensors to motors (Scott) - Completed
    • design, model, and laser-cut first chassis prototype for basic line tracking test (Scott & Jaya) - Completed
    • design & model grabber structure (Jaya) - Ongoing

    Software

    • programming line tracking function (Sam & Serena) - Ongoing (almost done)

    Electronic

    • basic sensors & drivers test on breadboard (Shuhan & Vittal) - Completed
    • LED flashing circuit design using Schmitt trigger (Vittal) - Completed
    • protoboard physical layout design & soldering of all components (Shuhan) - Completed

    Next week's aim: As their tasks are mostly done, the electronic team will now merge into the software team. Together, they will get the robot to detect package positions on rack, identify the color, and hopefully pick it up. The mechanical team will focus on the grabber mechanism. Also, the team needs to name the vehicle.
